This Second Playable Prototype shows some quick & dirty leveling, by collecting Glow from my new set of Power Flowers, in a few similar levels. I've removed the Upgrade portals from the game. Now all upgrading is done via Glow.
And yes, New Flowers & New Glow! 3 types of Flowers, for now.. each spawning different Glowsplosions.. And 3 types of Glow, for now, each with different XP values.
Next thing would be adding World Progression, adding NPCs and a simple dialogue system, balancing numbers.. Skill Change I think should be done by talking to an NPC, instead of a generic shrine. The Life Shrine remains the only shrine in game.
The biggest questions for me atm is.. should this game have a World Map? Is this a Planet you can explore by deciding where to go? Or is it a more or less.. pre-determined linear journey? I would love to have a Map, and give the Player a feeling of exploration. It would be amazing for this concept. But at the same time I want to keep interaction minimal, and the world simple and sort-of.. continuous. A while ago I had some plans for solving this problem with multiple Exit Gates, or you get to pick from a set of Cards.. Dunno. But again, a Map would be really nice. Decisions decisions..
