I'm far from being a traditionalist, but in architecture and interior design... I don't really understand what happens today. What is this... ...cold... ...minimal... ...geometric stuff? Even if adding a bit of vegetation to the equation... ...or a pool, which is always nice... ...and in spite of the creative play with fancy shapes... ...is this an ideal of modern living... ...or this, the house of the future? And ignoring the fanciness of this interior design, are people really happy to live in this kind of bare, minimal, ultra-sterile house? The visual impact of this is great, but is this a nurturing, warm, cosy atmosphere, for actual human living? And is this the increasingly sterile interior design of the future? :P Honestly, if I were to have enough money for an expensive, fancy house, such as the abovementioned, I'd prefer building or buying any of the houses in the next picture. Maybe I'll build me one of these hobbit holes some day... A bit primitive for most people, but it sure is cosy and quite a delight for the eye. Humanoids need details and organic shapes around them, in order to be happy :) Check out the guy's website, this was his first house project, but he seems to have gotten involved in lots of others, and now he's building a new one.
