Here's an idea I just had, for a game that may be called Evolution... I dreamed about it actually, and then woke up and put a bit of thought into it.
You have an avatar, could be as simple as a bouncing ball :) and your avatar keeps on walking. You can do two things, jump or duck, but never stop the guy from walking nor walk in reverse. Cannon balls (or something) fly above your head and you have to keep ducking to avoid every single one of them, to stay alive. If one cannon ball hits you, you lose some life, but then there are cookies (or something) you can eat to regain your strength. The trick is... cookies are hard to get, you'd most probably have to jump. Which takes me to this second option you have. If you jump, you risk a great deal more than just walking, but jumping can take you to superior levels and unlock secret paths and so on. You control the amount of jump - the more you jump, the more you risk, the juicier the rewards. So the whole idea is that you have to risk and jump, and evolve, to enjoy the game, or "live a boring life" walking... nothing happens, and you only duck to stay alive, which is sort of easy. But as probably you will get hit by cannon balls anyway, your extinction is imminent.
So what will it be? Jump and advance or duck and survive?
