Things start to look a lot more interesting now, I think, with more than just 1 theme per level. I could very well have more.. like 3 : > One for entrances, one for exits, one for anything else. As seen in Path of Exile.. They have 1 main theme per map, but the exits towards other maps blend in transitioning elements. My system is simpler, but the idea is the same. To merge worlds, to have a more continuous feel to this journey adventure thing. As opposed to having those classic sharp thematic contrasts, like.. a desert level, an ice level, a lava level.. Neah. No. Not here. Nop'.
I like contrast, just like any man.. but I must have some organic mess and continuity. The idea is that the journey takes you places, but.. the world changes gradually. And all this will be handled by my Patterns. A pattern can have a lot of World 1 and just a bit of World 2. And then the next thing is.. World 2 becomes the main thing, and we rarely see any more of World 1. And soon enough we exit towards a World 3. So on. : ]
