There are some questions to ask about PSEUDO's story. First of all, who is the girl, the main character? Where is she coming from, what's she doing here and why would she want to save the bird? All this doesn't show up in the film and is free to interpretations. I have a version of my own though, of course, for all this, to guide me; it helps me understand what I need to do. So here it is:
The girl was born (necessarily) late-April, in a distant flat-land-by-the-sea, and is an only child, proud and self-centric. Her goals in life are - dance, marry a rich man, and enjoy all life's pleasures. She makes friends easily but lives rather lonely, since she's pretty excentric sometimes (which is what the others notice most often) and people find a bit hard understanding her. So she has very few true friends (if any...?...). Although she seems crazy/excentric/impulsive and restless, the girl is actually shy - not very, just a little, she prefers not to get involved; she becomes impulsive only when she gets involved. She would give a lot of thinking to most things she'd do, before doing them, but then some other times, if she's all excited and ready to do something crazy, she would do it without thinking about it. She'd always reflect on that later. She's very indulgent to herself and others most of the time - except for the really important things, where she becomes very strict and extra-careful. She's hard to start and hard to stop. So, she's young (around 20-22), passionate about dance and let's presume... a gifted dancer. She's left home when she was 18 and she has no plans returning too soon, although she does miss her parents. She came here, in the high-mountains, pursuing her dream of becoming a dancer. She first studied at the high-mountain-school-of-dance... or something... and then she was left to find a place to work. She didn't find rich-and-beautiful-price-charming yet, so she has to do this low-pay job of being a dancer in a temple: guess what, this temple has a whole group of female-dancers to perform in daily rituals. The temple is like a huge maze, with many levels and intricate interiors. It seems like it also has many uses, and not all of them are entirely sacred... It has beautiful, luxuriant inner gardens and deep dungeons. Around the temple there is only forest and mountain. People coming here usually stay for a while, before going back to civilisation. It's like a Mecca. So the girl, since she's arrived here, has never left to go anywhere else. She lives here 24/7. The dancers have to spend lots of time perfecting their performances, since during the ritual no mistake is allowed, so that fills up most of her time. In her spare time - and there's lots of that too - she likes to go up on the roof and watch the mountains (and reflect, of course). This is where she met the bird. This is a magic bird who can speak. Oh, and the bird is a He! He is a very old and wise. The girl feeds him all kinds of goodies, and they talk about everything there is to talk. He tells her about the world and the magic within it. One day he gives her apple seeds and tells her to plant them. So the second day, one of the luxuriant inner gardens of the temple had this apple tree, grown over night, that nobody will ever notice being there. The bird asks the girl to feed him apples from this tree and tells her it's a magic tree - his power lies in these apples, and without them he wouldn't be magical anymore. She tries one apple, but nothing... Nope, magic apples just for magic birds :) Anyway, one day the temple's guards lure the bird and catch it, lock it in a chest and hide it deep inside the temple. The girl finds out everything, as word spreads as fast as hell among girls. The guards are looking for her. She gets scared and runs into the garden to pick up a basket of apples. Afraid but blinded by the moment, by the impulse, she sees that her only chance is to save the bird. The rest is history... :)
And I also think I've worked out the film's ending - the girl faints because of the pain, the bird tears apart the chest pushing her away, he knocks down one of the guards, goes up and breaks through all the levels, light comes in, we can see the girl moving her head, the other guard walks toward her, the bird lands on him - boom - and as the girl is awaken by this shock she tries to get up, the bird grabs her and they fly out. So there will only be one big hole in the roof, none on the laterals. As the bird eats the power-apple :) and knocks everything out of his way, he does that with immense weight, like he was built of solid steel and weighs a few tons - so when the guards get hit, the impact is like hitting a locomotive at full speed :) Aouch...
