Some things might look unappealing maybe or unclear, and the expression is obviously raw, but I ain't gonna detail it in drawings. Basically what I tried to do is redo what I had with the new character concept in mind, the attitude is a bit changed now. My previous drawings for example are cuter and the poses more graphical, to a certain extent, but this new breakdown is more logical and more accurate as to what I want from this shot. I'm still working on this breakdown anyway, once I feel it's right... I'll try to polish it and make the poses more appealing, and get a better flow.
I'm struggling though with a concept here: I can make a cute graphical pose that's more or less appealing and dynamic, and feels right even though it's a cheat, but that's not so logical nor realistic, nor accurate. And then I can analize myself and see what my body is actually doing, and try to draw that, and the pose comes out much more motivated and correct, but then.... it doesn't have thatcartoony... graphical appeal and flow anymore. Look at my first breakdown and compare to this second one... I definitely want to keep the logical, second version, and improve it, but I'm not sure how to refine the poses... And then I'm going into 3D and pose that dude, and he definitely won't be able to do exactly what my drawings do, if the poses are extremely graphical... so I should maybe try to go for even more accuracy and detail the poses to be exactly what they should be... and maybe they'll look better (???) and also transfer to 3D really well... we'll see... but then on the other hand, looking at Walt Stanchfield's gesture classes (to a certain degree... pretty confusing stuff, but awesome), I'm being really motivated to try and "abstract the essence" out of poses and get them to "feel right" rather than "be accurate"... as you can see, quite a struggle.
